Using Wikis in the classroom 

Some benefits:

• promotes collaborative work
• promotes constructive teaching
• promotes ownership (work is "published")
• students afraid to speak in class may be more comfortable online
• information can be changed or updated in minutes
• differentiated instruction!

Some disadvantages:

• not all students may have access from home
• takes add'l instruction around "cyberethics"
